Eleven years ago Sharon Pearson was at a crossroad. After years of unsuccessfully attempting to have her crime novels published, and feeling frustrated by ill health, she knew she had to make some changes. A friend suggested life coaching; she already had the ability to listen to and help her friends. She loved personal development. It was a way forward where she could actually make a difference.
Within 12 short months of starting her training to become a coach, Sharon had a full client list, had moved into dedicated coaching premises and was working with a wide range of clients from around the world. Training and public speaking gigs meant she was more in demand, and many coaches came to her seeking to know the 'secret' of her success.
Sharon began to run dedicated training events for coaches looking to coach at a deeper level, and wanted the 'transformational coaching' methodology Sharon had developed through her own practice. Within a short time, Sharon Pearson and Associates became The Coaching Institute, delivering coaching training for people throughout Australia and Asia.
The focus was on the transformational coaching she had developed as a coach, which meant students were trained in how to go beyond the surface level problem, and to provide coaching which restored the potential of the client so they could move forward.
The program rapidly became the first Diploma of Life Coaching ever recognised under the government framework available at the time, VRQA.
The first 'Intake' of students was nine people. Since then, 'TCI' has gone on to train over 6,000 students, had students come from Russia, the USA, Denmark and Thailand, and has developed the training into its own unique and in-demand methodology, Meta Dynamics.
In 2006 Sharon was the resident Coach for Channel Nine's '9am with David and Kim'. She was honoured with the Telstra Business Woman of the Year Award in 2010 at the Telstra Business Awards.
As a business, TCI has been the finalist in the Telstra Business Awards numerous times (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010), and has won the Telstra Victorian Business Awards for Innovation in 2010. TCI were also finalists in the People's Choice Awards in 2012.
Sharon has written three books, 'Pathways to Success and Happiness', 'Your Success: 10 Steps to an Extraordinary Life' and 'Simple Strategies for Business Success'.
The huge success and growing popularity for TCI programs led to the opening of the Executive Coaching Academy in 2013.
In 2013, due to student demand, Sharon developed, with the collaboration of students and coaches, the International Coach Guild (ICG), aimed to raise the standards of coaching throughout the world. With its 15 Core Competencies and its focus on excellence in coaching, it received over 200 applications for Associate Membership in its first two weeks of launching.
The ICG is positioned as the preferred choice for new coaching students, who want to become Credentialed Coaches.
TCI style trainings are not typical class rooms. The trainings are unconventional, interactive, experiential and challenging. They are not designed for people who only want to take notes and not apply what they learn.
Sharon has founded The Coaching Institute Foundation that has donated generously to several worthwhile causes throughout the world.
Students regularly contribute to these causes and many made the decision to join TCI because of its drive to truly make a difference.
Sharon spent 2013 focused on developing the Meta Dynamics Methodology, the Thought Dynamics brand and the International Coach Guild. The intention is to position TCI Coaches as the best in the world.
One quote I always keep nearby is this one from Theodore Roosevelt -- about the value of “daring greatly”. It's an excerpt of a speech he gave at Paris’s Sorbonne in April, 1910:
"It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat."
Sharon Pearson is a business owner, strategist and marketer who consults with a number of clients to work with them on their marketing and sales growth. She has worked with 1,000’s of businesses in the past five years, and has grown her own business from zero to eight figures in less than eight years.
She works with around 10 clients at any one time, guiding them in their business, marketing and sales strategies. Her fees are $10,000 per month, and this provides consulting each month as needed.
There are no contracts or proposals; simply the ability to access Sharon a couple of times of month, have access to her company’s materials and receive guidance and feedback on how to grow your business.
Your business needs to be turning over at least $500,000 each month and have a working web site. There’s an application form if you don’t know her, and she has the right to not work with anyone who isn’t fun, curious and willing to apply her ideas.
