Welcome to a new level of learning!

Today excitment is in the air! Well….more than usual. At The Coaching Institute we say ‘welcome’ to another group of students who will experience a whole new level of learning. Advanced Skills face to face training is an incredible journey into learning about human behaviour. The depth of knowledge that is shared is truly amazing and students can immediately apply their learning into their coaching.  Students who have experienced this sensational training consistently report the incredible results they get when they apply the techniques to their coaching tool box. We’re excited for our  students and we know that when they walk away from the three day event they will look back and know they have been taken on an incredible learning experience!

Six core needs

An interesting study of human behaviour should include the way in which we meet our six core needs. Students who attend our Advanced Skills training get a great insight into this model of human behaviour. Guru Anthony Robbins refers to it, and in more recent times our own Guru, Joe Pane, has extensively researched and studied these principles which have had a positive influence on his level of coaching mastery.

To give you a window into this intriguing area, we share the following.

How we satisfy our six core needs will determine our experience of happiness in life. Meeting these needs resourcefully requires us to have a balance within ourself. Once we know these needs we can also see why we do what we do and why we don’t do what we know we should do! Now, the intriguing thing is if we saturate ourselves with one need we actually become unhappy. The antidote is that we move resourcefully between one need and the other need that is paradoxical to it. For example, one of our needs is the need for certainty/safety/ comfort. The paradoxical need is one of uncertainty/variety/adventure. So to meet both needs is to move between the two in a way that is resourceful, obtainable and sustainable.

There are four needs of the personality and two needs of the spirit. Two personality needs we’ve mentioned already, and the other two are Significance (a giver of significance is more resourceful thana a getter of significance) and the final personality need is one of Love/Connection. The needs of the spirit are Contribution and Growth.

A coach master will dance with these needs in a way that totally benefits their client, and in our quest for mastery make sure that the study of the six core needs is an essential part of your goals.

What’s not said…..

It is interesting how what is unsaid, is the intention of the speaker.

When someone tells you they ‘might’ catch up with you, what are they telling you? Really telling you? What stops them from just saying no or yes? What unconsciously are they avoiding by using this word? How would we respond to invitations received on facebook if we only had the option of yes or no, instead of maybe? How many of us would hesitate to say no, and be tempted to say maybe because it sounds nice, it won’t sound so abrupt or hurtful? Whose map are we operating from?

What happens when someone tells you they’ll ‘try’? Do you catch yourself saying that? If you do, what are you really saying? What is being unsaid? What does ‘try’ mean? You either will or won’t, do or don’t….there is no inbetween.

Picture a scene….4 year olds running around at a kindergarten, playing on the play equipment, digging in the sand pit. How many times do you think you’ll hear the words…”I’ll try….I might”? More likely never! In a simple child’s world there is no try, no might. It is either yes or no. There is no maybe….

When did we decide in a defining moment that it was easier to soften your language? When did you decide that it was no longer important to speak your truth? When did you decide that if you did say no, it was too hurtful for someone else and therefore you would help them remain blissfully unaware that you really want to say no, it just sounds better to select ‘maybe’ and simly not turn up? Or if you say yes, then you have to commit, and you don’t really want to.

We invite you to think about this, to raise your awareness on your own language, what you leave unsaid, and why. And decide whether being truthful to yourself is worth it, or not…..or is it more that you ‘might’ do that?

Preparation and discipline is the key

We’ve a number of students who have just finished their first face to face training with us, at their Foundations of Coaching Success weekend. And we know from experience that they will walk away from that event full of anticipation, nervous excitment and a head full of ideas on how they can create a life for themselves, a life before that they had only dreamed of.

It is often in these moments that one of three things can occur. Students who are already disciplined will sit down this week, plan out their schedules to ensure they are set up for success. Others will walk away experiencing an overwhelm, as they focus on everything at once, and as a result feel that it’s such a lot to achieve. And the third possibility? Students who experience a bit of both, and seek support by contacting The Coaching Institute Student Support team, and work through how to chunk down their actions and work through what they want to acheive, and then establish a plan of action, to get their results.

Taking some time to prepare a plan of action, being disciplined and remaining focussed can result in incremental steps forward to change and developing their own level of mastery. Let’s face it, success is about discipline, it is about planning and it is about results. So get on board the results train, and enjoy the ride!

Success is a few disciplines practised every day. While failure is a few errors in judgement repeated every day”. Jim Rohn.

At the crossroads….

There are many times in our lives when we come to a crossroad…a time when a decision is required. Whether to take one path or another.

And it is in that moment that we best serve ourselves, by taking the time to identify what our inner voice / ego is telling us. Ego tells us we’re better off being safe, take the safe path, the one we know, so that we have certainty on how our life will be. That we will be okay, don’t take risks, because risks can lead to pain. (And ironically, if that is the decision we make, we are still surprised that pain arises anyway…)

And another voice inside us, our true calling, our true passion, our most inner core, our truth, speaks up in those moments as well. Often the louder our truth speaks, the louder our ego becomes. Our truth calls us…ever patiently, ever present, yet buried deep, speaks to us of what is possible, what we have always secretly dreamed and what is awaiting us. There is no promise of certainty, and of safety, yet there is the opportunity to be enriched and empowered beyond anything we knew before. And it’s not just about us, it’s about those that we love and care for, those whose lives we can help make a difference in….people just like us.

When you reach your crossroads, we invite you to think about the decisions you make. Do you always step onto the path of certainty, telling yourself that this is the best way, yet secretly knowing that the end result is also painful because of the regret that is yet to come? Or do you take your time, recognise that your ego is speaking up, patiently quietening this voice, and being okay with the unknown path, secretly knowing that with this uncertainty comes great reward because you know, that as scary as it may be, you are taking the path of your core, of your truth.

Look around you. How many people do you know live their truth? Are you one of them? We all have fears…all of us, every single one of us. It’s what we allow our fears to become or what we uncompromisingly refuse to give into that is the key . You have people around you who have been down the path of uncertainty before….and have conquered it…observe, learn and know that if they can do it, so can you. Build your courage, refuse to live in regret, learn from nature, learn from others……

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” Marianne Williamson

Experiencing Non Judgement

How easy it is to say….Practice Non Judgement….

Question is, how much of a challenge is this for you and I?

As human beings it is natural for us to fall into judgement. To understand just how negative and non productive…even destructive…being judgemental can be…might be challenging. So, the following is offered as a way of understanding what we do when we judge.

Think of a football match. On the field you have the players. The players are the only ones that affect the outcome of the game.. who wins and who doesn’t. And then we observe those who attend to watch the game, who sit in the stands and observe.

And those observers definitely judge. Judge every kick, catch, tackle and decision made by each player on ‘their’ team and the opposition. And judge so much that it becomes fact in the observers world.

And when you think of us in our own world, even though we don’t affect the outcome, we judge as if we do. We judge as if we are right and those that disagree are wrong. We put forward our opinion as if we were going to influence the outcome….the result.

Today we invite you to decide whether you are going to continue to be ‘one of the crowd’ and judge events and people as if we are the ones that influence the outcome or instead we experience a day of non-judgement.

And if one day seems insurmountable to you, then experience two hours of non-judgement, or even one hour of non-judgement. Simply have no judgement of what occurs.

And see what happens. Simply letting go of the need to be right or wrong, letting go of whether something is good or bad, and simply accepting that an event or person is just how it occurs to you, based on your own experiences, values, beliefs.

Let go, and experience non-judgement….and see what opportunities arise simply because you no longer close them off. And be okay with whatever occurs…..knowing that it is only when you are ‘on the field’ that you can contribute to the end game.

“Judgement prevents us from seeing the good that lies beyond appearances” Dr Wayne Dyer

If you judge people, you have no time to love them” Mother Teresa

Quantum Physics Thinking

At The Coaching Institute we constantly search for more learning and stretching ourselves, in order to achieve the best we can. We recommend researching Quantum Physics as a way of living in the moment and being open to any possibility based on what your core is. Here are some facts that have arisen out of discussions we’ve had here amongst our team at The Coaching Institute, and we thought it was a great opportunity to share them with you, and we invite you to do your own research and offer your own insights into the power of Quantum Thinking and what results you have achieved from applying this thinking.

Fear is a very slow and dense vibrational state to be in and the more you embody fear the slower your vibrational pattern is, which closes off opportunity. Many people live in the stress and fear and forget about now…Be aware that the more you attach to the future you are helping create it by believing it….so what does that mean?

Well, in terms of setting up your business & paying clients, your mindset is one of absolutely believing and being positive. Often in our experiences coaches go through thoughts of ‘not deserving’ payment for coaching….this is creating a future of no paying clients…that is Quantum Physics in motion! So our message is be careful of what you believe about the future, as the more you attach to a belief system you are helping to create it by believing it.

Reality is built out of thought, and our every thought builds our reality and every thought starts to build reality. So if our focus is on stress and negative thinking then it makes sense that our reality is exactly that! A great description we’ve heard is how our thoughts are kind of like the way a spider builds it’s web, strand by strand, which ultimately builds the web….our web of reality.

In summary, our reality (at the sub atomic level) behaves in accordance with the expectations of the observer.

This is a great reminder that understanding Quantum Physics is a great way of expanding your thinking, and creating realities that are worth building…….we invite you to consider how you can incrementally learn and apply a new way of thinking so the reality you build is one that will create a life of success……………..

Food for thought..here are some inspirations to put up as a reminder…..Remember there is no failure, only feedback.

“If we’re growing, we’re always going to be out of our comfort zone.” – John Maxwell

“If you wait to do everything until you’re sure it’s right, you’ll probably never do much of anything.” – Win Borden

When you see a situation from a different perspective

Human behaviour is such that we tend to see things from our own perspective first, and sometimes get stuck in that. And get stuck in it to the extent that we close off all other possiblities. And if that’s the case, and we don’t have that close friend who holds us accountable for how this can keep us stuck, we start to miss opportunities that come along because we’re closed off.

A simple yet effective technique to implement when you feel ‘stuck’ in your view of the world, is to consciously take a moment and do the following (the key to this is to adapt this for your own use, don’t just stick to what we’re saying).

When you feel stuck in the moment and cannot ‘see the wood for the trees’ close your eyes  and go back in time to an earlier age.. say when you were 15. And look at the situation again. How would you feel about it now? What would you think? What would you have done back then before it became an issue? Get in touch with the 15 year old version of you…and just notice what your perspective is then. Is it more resourceful? What mattered then? Does it matter now?

And now go back further, say, when you were 5 years old. That 5 year old version of you would think what? Would it matter? Would other things be more important? Is there a different perspective your 5 year old version has? Is this more resourceful? What would your 5 year old version do?

Move around the room as you do this, really get into what you are experiencing….because there is always a way, and a better way….it’s just opening up to what different perspectives exist. And, at the end of the day it’s only your perspective on this…it isn’t fact, it’s what you make up a situation to be that is your perspective.

How can you be more resourceful? How can you open up possibility? Taking on different perspectives in a resourceful way is opening  up to possiblities, which are endless…it just depends on how much you are prepared to open your eyes and truly see, rather than just look……We invite you to take on different perspectives in all you do, and notice what comes into your world, and what you filter out as a result.

Breaking through at Breakthrough to Business Success!

At the end of Sunday July 10th saw a massive room of business owners and coaching community alike walk away with new levels of learning and respect on the mindset and strategies required to truly bring your business to a new level of success, after participating in Breakthrough to Business Success. Minds were opened up in ways never experienced before, as the sensational Sharon Pearson served the room to bring out the best in participants, in a way they have never been exposed to before. The business community came together and grew as a result. Onward and upward from here for our now expanded community from across Australia. At The Coaching Institute we look forward to seeing new business growth and success as a result.

The critical ingredient is getting off your butt and doing something. It’s as simple as that. A lot of people have ideas, but there are few who decide to do something about them now. Not tomorrow. Not next week. But today. The true entrepreneur is a doer, not a dreamer.
