As an employee at The Coaching Institute sometimes we need to pinch ourselves. Last night we had the opportunity and privilege to learn the inspiring system of ESIP straight from Sharon Pearson! Those of us that hadn’t been in the room with Sharon before, sat with mouths open in awe of her undying passion for this company and what ESIP can teach us all.

For those that already knew ESIP we walk away from last night ready and reinvigorated to implement its clear logic and rational strategies of success. The whole team is abuzz with the possibilities they now have and the tools they hold to improve themselves and thus TCI.

Sharon Person at her finest. That’s what was promised and unquestionably what was received today in the Mastermind Extended Sessions.

Kicking off the day with a grounding breakfast the Mastermind family soared for greatness in the anticipation of tomorrow’s Dragons Den spectacle. With an impressive and formidable panel of judges, tomorrow will stretch and test the talents tended in the mastermind program.

The format will be reminiscent of the popular TV show except for the kicker! For every Masterminder that manages to stand the heat and persuades the Dragons to support their plan, money will be donated toward One of the many worthy causes The Coaching Institute currently supports.

Mary Anderson Family Violence Program

Just before Christmas 2012 we were delighted to receive the high quantity and quality gifts you donated.  We have many stories to tell describing how we have utilized the goodies and how they were received:

1. A four bedroom house which accommodates larger families requiring safe family violence, crisis accommodation.  At Christmas there were four children and mother residing here.  The children are 15, 13, 4 and 2 years of age.  There was much laughter when the children discovered the sporting equipment in their backyard on Christmas Eve.  The mother told us that there was even greater celebration on Christmas Day.  When the family left their home they were unable to take many of their belongings with them.  The older children were both competitive swimmers before they had to flee their home.  The swimming bathers and goggles were much appreciated and enabled the young women to recommence swimming during the Christmas holiday period.

1. Two units which provide emergency crisis accommodation for women and/or women with children for three to five nights.  During the Christmas period both units were occupied with women and children.  It had not been possible for both families to pack the Christmas gifts they had purchased for their children.  Your gifts enabled all three children, aged between 4 and 7years, to have a stimulating and fun ‘Santa sack’.  We were also able to replace the outside play equipment with full sets of equipment, i.e. children’s cricket bat, balls, wickets.

1. Two one bedroom crisis accommodations.  These units were occupied by single women.  One woman 22 years of age, she recently arrived in Australia and is now in the process of seeking a protection visa.  This young woman is not entitled to income, employment, etc during the immigration process; your gifts provided her with what she described as ‘luxury items’.  The second woman was 68 years of age and recently released from a psychiatric hospital.  This woman told us that the gifts gave her hope for her future as she thought that there were not many good people left in the world.

1. Then we have the 6 two bedroom crisis refuge units.  Well there are now many happy children, and from what we have been told mothers! The opportunity for the children to have new outdoor play equipment has meant the children are not indoors as much as they were.   A few of the families have also let us know, post Christmas, that their children will be commencing swimming lessons at school – it was a very happy and appreciative mums when we were able to provide the swimmers, goggles and sun block.

Well we still have other stories as women not in refuge also benefited from your donation.

And not only that, we also have some equipment still in our storage to share with other families to come to our refuge during the year.

On the 9^th Jan 2013. We got more great news. 6 more Bears were saved from the proceeds of the TCI Foundation.

Here’s the latest picture sent to us. What an amazing thing to know that you all contribute to saving such innocent lives.

Imagine if these helpless beings could speak… Imagine the gratitude!

This past weekend saw Joe Pane celebrating his 100th Foundations Of Success weekend. How symbolically ironic and awesome that it is the last ever intake weekend to take place at Ferrars Street! Coincidence? I don’t think so!

Friday night our team got together to celebrate with champagne, chocolate cake (of course), Collingwood colored ribbon to burst through, a giant card and this plaque as a way to remember this amazing milestone. Congratulations Joe , from all the community of TCI x

Is going to be more than just a Christmas Party!!!

Crossroads Mary Anderson Family Violence Service

Many of the children who come to the service must leave behind everything they have including school uniforms and toys. The service likes to give the children something when they first arrive and then they let the children take it with them when they leave as they often become attached to it. The service struggles to pay for the ongoing need for toys to replace those taken because they incur a number of huge expenses. One example of this is if the family has older boys (15+) then they cannot stay in the centre and must go to a hotel which the service covers.

Over the years we’ve had students wanting to gift the TCI Team, and we thank our community for your gifts. This year as we did last year, we request that our community gives to those in our community who are in so much more need… And our charity of choice is Crossroads Mary Anderson Family Violence Service.

Students have already started sending in their special gifts, they will have an opportunity to bring a gift at the Christmas Party on the 13^th December. The service needs items for older children particularly sporting goods. Last year one member of ours donated a cricket set (real one, not plastic children’s one) and another a basketball. These proved to be massively popular. The director of the service is getting together a comprehensive list of the toys they feel would be of great benefit and she has said the sporting goods would be number one.  Another suggestion were bathers, board shorts, goggles and sunblock… stuff we all take for granted.
