Online Marketing

I attribute 90% of our success here at The Coaching Institute to our online presence. We haven’t always been that smart about it, (in fact, we make some pretty big mistakes) but we still seem to do pretty well at it. It’s been a ‘have a go and see what happens’ approach a lot of the time. Sometimes there’s been some planning, but mostly, give it a whirl.

And that worked, up to a point.

Now we’re getting smarter about it. I’ve done a bunch of courses around the world, spent a TONNE of money, invested masses of time, and we’re starting to get a cohesive approach to how to do things around here.

And the interesting thing is, the more we practice, the better we get. No shock there.

Here’s the shock – most of what we do, anyone can do. But plenty of people don’t. It’s almost like the ‘have a go and risk making a mistake’ switch is set permanently to OFF.

That means plenty of really good life coaches are missing out, right now, on how to maximise their potential to make a difference simply because they didn’t challenge the ole comfort zone.

Having said that, there are plenty of life coaches who are doing it, and doing really well. You should check out what Paul Andrew has done with his website at www.theleadershipcoach.com and also Naomi Aldred(started in the Diploma program three months ago) at www.nexuscoachinggroup.com.au. I’ll introduce you to some more later.

What they’ve done is applied some basic principles that have been tried and tested and got great results. (Both have paying clients and are making a real difference)

There’s a bunch of things they’re doing that work, but none of that happens without one crucial and regularly overlooked ingredient – your mindset.

If your thinking is one of ‘doubt first, act later’ you’re going to struggle to get results from the internet. What’s that saying? The busiest day of the week is ‘later’.

How about try this approach – have doubts AS you have a go, to see what happens.

My mindset is simple – I aim to have fun, connect and learn something whenever I do something new in business. Then, if it doesn’t get great results, I will always have achieved at least three things from it – connected, had fun and learnt something.

And if it does get a great result then I’ve achieved FOUR things. Cool.

Set the bar for what you will settle for achieving quite low, and then you’ll have a go without putting too much pressure on yourself.

This approach got me to where I earn high 7 figures each year. That wouldput me in the top earners in the world in coaching. Would never have happened if I hadn’t got myself involved in the stuff of change.

 Here’s my approach –

Learn something

Have a go at it

Aim to have fun

Get others involved

Don’t (ever) bitch about what didn’t work

Do it again – only better

Then I rinse and repeat.

Learn something else… etc

After a while, believing you can do a half decent job of it becomes the norm, and not the exception. Self doubt fades and confidence is your natural state.

So, if I may impose on you, what’s something you can learn that will help you ONLY if you apply it? Go do that, and see what happens…

Tally – ho
