Testimonials

"Dear Sharon, Joe, Connie & TCI Support Team,

A heartfelt “thank you” for a truly transformational 7 days! TCI’s NLP Practitioner training quite literally turned my life around. No doubt about it.

I’ve been pain-free since I completed the course. That’s following 18 years of ‘doing’ fibromyalgia. I even cured myself of restless leg syndrome. If faced with a health ‘challenge’, I just ask myself “how am I doing this?” and presto it’s gone.

Controlling my ‘state’, I discovered, isn’t limited to health. The weekend following our NLP training, I put in an awesome paddle at the Corporate Games - Outrigger Canoeing held at Docklands.

Thanks to the TCI team, I’m living purposefully and with passion, creating the world I really want. My map of the world has changed irrevocably.

Now to pass that gift along...

In light & love,"

"Coaching is a journey of passion, integrity, inspiration and dedication just to name a few. These values are extremely important to The Coaching Institute, its founder Sharon Pearson and her team who deliver nothing less than the values which they teach. John and I are both students with TCI and would not hesitate in recommending their training programs to anyone who is passionate about inspiring people through coaching to reach their full potential. “I have 18 paying clients, my own coaching offices and I’m absolutely delighted with everything I experienced at The Coaching Institute. They have supported me, offered guidance at every step and delivered far more than I expected. Thank you TCI!”

<$title$> Dear [fullname,fallback=Reader],

The theme for this month is happiness - I think we experience more happiness when we say yes to what makes us reach for our dreams. We can all dream - it's those of us who dare to reach for that dream who experience the joy of possibilities. Even if the dream is as "small" and precious as to love someone, it takes courage and a willingness to risk ourselves to experience it.

We all need to strive for happiness - it comes not from our wealth, our job, our possessions or trying to fix ourselves. It comes from being optimistic about our future, being proactive about our lives, drawing close a group of friends and from physical movement. It comes from laughter and giving, instead of feeling sorry for ourselves.

This isn't the wishy washy beliefs of coaching - these are the actual steps that it takes to raise our happiness levels.

We can all choose to be happier, the same as we can choose to exercise, choose to eat better and choose to set goals. Like anything, if we repeat the steps enough, it will become a habit.

The Habit of Happiness - I like it!

Warmest regards,

Sharon

Intake Weekend

We were graced with the presence of our newest students at the beginning of July.  They are a delightful group of people and the weekend was amazing.  The feedback was sensational and we are looking forward to supporting them during their time with us to help them make it all they have dreamed of.  Welcome July 08 Intake!!!

Congratulations Team July 08, you were an amazing group of people, yet another group of people showing us why we work so hard to make this outstanding!!

Intake Weekend coming

As the August 08 intake draws closer we are excited for the newest version of the Intake weekend. The weekend has now been extended to be a full day Friday, making it a 3 day weekend. This means we get to spend a whole day on each of the 3 keys to becoming a successful coach. The ‘Be Do Have’ model is significant in coaching and we have now tweaked the intake weekend to reflect this even more. So Friday will be all about ‘who I need to be’ to become a successful coach. The Saturday is all about ‘what I have to do’ to become a successful coach and the Sunday is focused on ‘how I can have a successful business of coaching’. This is the very first of many in this new and exciting format, and we have an amazing group of people lined up to begin their coaching journey on the 08/08/08!!

How to join The Coaching Institute

If you have been curious about coaching and thinking that coaching would be an interesting tool to add to your tool kit, then get on the phone to one of our course consultants and begin to get excited about what it means commit to yourself to take your life and success to the next level. The Happiness Bank by Sharon Pearson

When asked what their goal is, someone said “to be happy.” Why would that be a goal, when it’s something you can have right now? Being happy is about making more decisions, saying yes to more opportunities, doing things that stretch you and contributing beyond yourself. For me coaching has provided all of this and so much more, but when I first looked at coaching I was afraid of failing and of not being good enough, so I procrastinated.

I kept seeing ALL the steps needed to be a coach, which terrified me. It all looked daunting and unmanageable and too much for me, so I kept putting off the decision to learn how to be a coach.

I wasn’t a happy person back then. Every time I pulled back from decisions I eroded some of my confidence. The more I procrastinated, the more I could beat up on myself for not being good enough. It was a self-fulfilling prophecy until I was frozen with fear.

When I decided to only focus on the next step, I could manage it more easily. I still felt anxious, but less so, and because I was calmer, there was room for some positive thinking in there as well… like, maybe I can do this?

I’ve come a long way since then. Now I feel happy every day. It’s no longer a goal. I’ve learned that playing it safe is dangerous to our self-esteem, so I choose to make the most of every day. The more decisions I make, the more I say yes to possibilities, the more I stretch myself and contribute to those around me, the better I feel.

Each and every day you are either adding to or subtracting from your Happiness Bank. The decisions you don’t make subtract from your Happiness Bank and the decisions you do make add to your Happiness Bank. The longer we sit and “wonder” what to do, the lower the account goes. And no matter what we believe, fear, wonder or ponder, right now we are either adding or subtracting to it.

I aim every day to ADD to my Happiness Bank, and I know I alone am responsible for it. I didn’t know this five years ago, but I wish I had. :)

Coaching Corner with Lisa Wiking

Happiness is a state not a goal. As a coach it’s important to understand the difference between a goal and a state. A goal is something that is external to us. It is something we decide we would like to experience in the future and need to take a series of steps to achieve it. It requires a certain amount of time between where we are now and where we want to be in the future to achieve it. A smart goal is specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time lined. A state, on the other hand, is an emotion, something that we can experience at any time of the day in any moment. For example, take a moment to think about a time when you were really sad. Go back to that time, right now, see what you saw in that moment, hear the noises you heard, feel the feelings that consumed your body and notice what you were telling yourself in that very moment. Now take a moment. How are you feeling? Ok, enough of that, break state, can you taste chocolate? Now, think about a time that you were ecstatic with happiness. Go back to that time, right now, see what you saw, hear the noises you heard, feel the feelings that consumed your body and notice what you were telling yourself in that very moment. Now take a minute. How are you feeling now? …..What’s the difference – both happened in this moment. You can experience any state you choose to feel at any given moment simply by following that simple exercise.
