Essential Coaching for Leaders – back due to popular demand
We have been quietly letting the word spread that Essential Coaching Skills for Leaders is back! This means that five places are already booked (it’s amazing what happens when the word gets out) and that ten places remain.
This training receives awesome feedback. It provides a complete coaching model for leaders to use when performance managing their teams. I used to run something like this years ago for Flight Centre and a couple of other companies but I had never run it as one two-day program until last year. So whilst I had taught elements of it hundreds of times, now it’s all in one training for our participants.
It includes the TACOCA Model of Coaching Teams, which is a full performance management coaching model for leaders. Used by coaches when coaching executives and by executives themselves, it’s the solution to ongoing accountability and performance management.

Has the word “Sales” ever scared you in the past? Have you ever felt that negative feeling when you hear the word sales muttered in the same sentence as your name? Many people, when think of sales think of, what I like to call, ‘The 80’s Sale’. You know what I mean, the dodgy looking sales man, who is trying to get as much out of you as possible and sell you something you don’t need. It came to me in a coaching session a few weeks ago, that the negative sensation to sales is useless and irrelevant when considered with coaching in mind. Coaching is about working with the client to create a win, win, win outcome, technically known as having ‘Ecology’ in mind. So the modern version of sales is simply exploring the clients need for your product. Find out from them exactly that they are looking for, assess whether your product is a solution, and if it is, recommend it. If it is not a match, then you have no business being there. Refer them to someone who has the solution, or make another recommendation. It is as simple as that, nothing more and nothing less. So if you are one of those people who has panicked about it in the past, or run a business, and dislike selling, remember, it’s not about avoiding sales, rather, changing your perception about sales. Remember, if your potential clients have a need, and you don’t sell to them, you are doing them a disservice.

500 in 5 days

I was on a call to all our franchisees the other day and I shared with them how in the year 2000 my business and personal life changed in 5 days. You see I was set the task to speak with 500 people (ie people I had never met before) in 5 days. To do this I had to knock on about 1500 doors in 5 days. Can you imagine that? Knocking on 1500 doors to speak to 500 people who don’t know you and don’t know what you want!
So what has this got to do with you?
If you want to build your coaching practice - fast. If you want to excel your ability to think on your feet - fast. If you want to add lots of power and effectiveness in how you communicate – fast. If you want to build your self esteem – fast. If you want to build your confidence – fast. If you want to build the business you are currently in –fast, then this has a lot to do with you.
When you develop the ability to speak to total strangers without a change of breathe, heartbeat or rhythm, then you are learning all of the above skills and capabilities – fast.
So if you want change in your life fast – then go out and spend a week with the many wonderful (and sometimes weird) people who are right outside your doorstep. It will change your life. Who knows, you just may change someone else’s life all because you knocked on their door.
We live in an incredible country. The latest stats show us that on average a female will live to 83 and a male to 78. Global averages are 67 for females and 64 for males.
You get an extra 14 years just because you were born here – in this amazing country.
