My life has taken on many different paths and directions before joining the inspiring community at The Coaching Institute in Melbourne. I have been a semi professional soccer player in Europe, worked as a travel agent, taken to the high seas on cruise ships, become a trained and practising massage therapist and worked in the casino industry in the US as everything from a dealer to a pit boss for over a decade. While life on the gambling tables was financially rewarding there was always something missing; I was searching for a deeper purpose which I could not find with the roll of a dice or the flip of a card.
I had a burning desire for self discovery and to be of selfless service. As a result I started practising yoga and meditation, eventually becoming a certified yoga teacher. Soon after I moved to Australia with my wife and it was then we founded Yoga Flame, which has grown to be a very successful and well respected yoga studio in Melbourne.
From the day we opened, it was incredible to witness how the studio positively affected people’s lives - and how they were looking for even more. People approached us with questions as they searched for advice and guidance in their lives. I wanted to be there for them, but I knew I needed help to do so. My search led me to TCI, and I haven’t looked back since.
I started my coaching journey in 2013 when I enrolled in a Personal Power event lead by the great mentor Joe Pane. The weekend was so inspiring that by the Sunday I had signed up for the Credentialed Master Practitioner of Coaching Course.
My FOCS intake was amazing – I was challenged and learnt so much. It was clear right from the start that by combining coaching with my role as a yoga teacher and studio owner I could really make a difference.
I started coaching one on one as soon as I could and had great results. As my confidence grew so did our vision for our business. With continued studies at TCI the possibility to create a Yoga Teacher Training Course became a reality. It is now accredited and ready to go with the first group starting in February 2015. This would not have been possible without my connection to TCI and its inspiring leader Sharon Pearson.
What is really clear for me is that I can apply the learning from TCI to both my current business and also to help develop and create new opportunities. By simply applying the teachings, modelling excellence and taking small steps I have found success. Sometimes the road has been bumpy and not necessarily easy – but that it the beauty of it. Overall it has been a blast!
I am truly grateful for the endless possibilities that have opened for me since joining TCI and cannot wait to explore the next paths that open on my journey.
Big love and hug,
