For the past 11 years I have been a stay at home mum to 4 boys, running the admin side of my husband’s business, and nearly 12 months of specialist appointments with my youngest son.
I have done numerous courses, yet had never stepped up and put myself first or believed in myself enough to make it happen in a big way, I was playing small and it was a hobby. Joining TCI (March 2015) I knew where I wanted to be, I just didn’t know how to get there. For me TCI was like a staircase had been inserted and all I had to do was follow the steps, one at a time.
My 3 day Foundations of Coaching Success weekend in March 2015 gave me more tools and insights on ways to help my son, than months and months of psychologist and specialist appointments ever had, and that was only the beginning. I now see my children shining and achieving and stepping out of their comfort zones too, and applying for leadership roles at school.
The big thing that I have learnt is that this is my journey! I was comparing myself to those around me and I was falling behind. So I stopped and acknowledged myself for where I was at, re-visited my goals and got clear on what I wanted for me, and what that would give me.
After attending Meta Dynamics and Sharon Pearson talking about her benchmarks and standards, I also looked at how I was showing up in my life and implemented non-negotiables! This has been a game changer for me! I also get coached, after all isn’t that what we are teaching our clients.
2016 is a year of stepping up and doing things out of my comfort zone. I ran my first workshop in Jan (I choose a safe environment for me, like Joe Pane taught us. I didn’t have a list so I offered my services for free to a lady who runs a healing and yoga centre, and she marketed it to her clients). The owner was really happy and she wants me to run more. I have my second workshop the end of February where I am presenting with a fellow TCI coach, where we are marketing to our clients. These workshops are the first of many more to come.
I am doing this, and I haven’t done any training on how to run a workshop; I don’t have paying clients yet, I’m just trusting in me. You don’t need to know how to do it all. You just need to believe in yourself that you can do it, and ask for help if you need it. TCI have outstanding support, all you need to do is ask. I also asked all of my attendees to see my perfection in imperfection, as I was standing up and giving it a go.
