Ever since growing up in Soviet Union I wanted to learn and contribute to success and excellence of human kind. My first personal encounter with coaching came from professional sports industry. The coaching system 25 years ago was specifically oriented towards development of physical strength and resilience required to excel in sports competition. There was not much attention directed towards building personal mental strength.
With the collapse of the Soviet Union and Chernobyl’s atomic explosion, my parents made a decision to immigrate to Israel and to start over. I had to adapt and develop my mental strength, in order to adjust to this new and very challenging life situation that involved many personal, family-related and cultural difficulties. This necessity led me to join a college for marine officers and I stepped on a pathway of a military career. It was my opportunity to become a mentor and coach for new recruits and help them to succeed in their military careers.
After almost 10 years in the military, I was searching for a new challenge and coming to Australia looked like a great opportunity to test my character and change my life course. Once again in life, I had to tap into my personal power to find internal resources to succeed in the new and once again challenging life situation that required adjustment, re-learning of certain skills and acquirement of new understandings about myself and others. My career continued in an international corporation, where I worked as department manager and mentor. I felt that I was limited in my contribution by corporate policies and procedures and I knew that I wanted to give more from my experience and knowledge.
My wife saw a TCI advertisement on Facebook and registered my details to receive the gift pack. It was a total surprise for me. I went to TCI head office to have a chat and to see if life coaching was for me. I was given a ticket to a personal power event with Joe Pane and was totally blown away. I did my FOCS training in June 2014 and received a huge boost to my confidence about changing career and having my own coaching business. This was my dream for as long as I can remember. But this dream came with its challenges in which I had, and still have to, overcome certain fears, doubts and uncertainty.
In February 2015 I left my corporate role and established a career coaching business under the name of “Mastermind Coaching”. I use my passion and expertise to help people to make an informed and conscious decision about their careers and life choices. During this time, I had a chance to be a guest speaker for a government agency, organized my own career seminars, worked with paying and pro Bono clients. My biggest achievement so far, was getting over my personal fears and setting my behavior as example to model for my son. It is a work in progress, but I am grateful for this journey.
In August 2015 I made a further commitment to my coaching journey and upgraded to PRO coach pathway, as I am very keen on developing myself as a human behavior expert. I am looking forward into the bright future, because I know that this is my pathway and I have no doubt about my success, no matter the obstacles.
I would like to see my business grow into an international franchise, where my success story will be used as an inspiration for others in less fortunate countries of South East Asia.
