My Name is Tony Nassar from Cooma NSW. I first enrolled at The Coaching Institute in 2012 as an Credential Practitioner in order to further my professional development for my then running business and practice, ‘Alpine Therapy Centre’. I have been practicing as a Subconscious-mind Therapist for approximately twelve years, and through my practice found a great enlightenment in helping others. I also found that through my Therapeutic work, my clients would return asking me a similar questions...’now what else can I do’. It was that question that led me to gain further knowledge about coaching.
I began using my knowledge from The Coaching Institute to develop my skills and use them with clients, specialising in athletics, student development and business development. One particular client who was in the running for the Winter Olympics, came to me with nerve and anxiety issues which ultimately blocked her ability to perform at her ultimate potential level. Using my Therapeutic skills, following through with my coaching skills, my then client was selected to represent her country in the Winter Olympics. Her performance ranked her from twenty seventh in the Australasian rankings to performing in her first Winter Olympic games in Russia and finished seventeenth in the world. A phenomenal result for a young lady who is just nineteen years of age.
My learning’s and experiences at TCI, allowed me to venture into other facets within my field, ones that I had considered, but never acted upon. This would include workshops, team development seminars, networking and student awareness programs. Through branching out into these areas, I was able to secure myself as first point of contact for many local schools in my surrounding area, and also referred onto by other student mentoring bodies such as Catholic Care Australia.
My journey with TCI was not to seek paying clients as I had already secured a firm clientele with Alpine Therapy Centre, however, it did provide me an opportunity to gain extra income from running my first workshop and having connections with corporate contracts. My plan was to then secure and develop my position as a trusted coach in the southern NSW area, and even more so, develop my connections and stability with the Australian Winter Olympic Team.
One of my most successful career opportunities to date is my recent move to be part of a clinical environment, working alongside industry professionals in areas such as Podiatry, Physiotherapist, Psychiatrists and General Practitioners. This will now take my business to whole new level of professionalism and an opportunity to gain referrals from Medical Practitioners and furthermore, to broaden my opportunities for networking and building positive relationships within the community.
This recent move has provided a stepping stone for me to live my dream of continuing to work one on one with clients, to help them work through their challenges and to now coach them towards the ways that they want to be. My learning’s through TCI allow me to know that I can continue to find new ways to improve my tool bag of credentials and most importantly gain knowledge through my own experiences, I am able to help those who seek help and provide the gift of change for those who challenge it!
