Grant, a student of The Coaching Institute’s Diploma in Life Coaching, earned back his Diploma fees and more 3 months after his Intake. Here he tells us about why he got into coaching and what he’s been up to since his Intake weekend this January.
What made you get into coaching?
Having been in the personal development industry for 25 years, I really wanted to increase my awareness and understanding of what holds people back from bringing out their personal best. After undertaking some research, I realised that coaching would provide me with the vehicle to invest in the individual, rather than the outcome. As a trainer and personal leadership expert, I have helped many people increase their skill levels and create short term change. However as coach I am now adding even greater value by creating an environment for life-long transformation.
I chose to do the Diploma at The Coaching Institute because they offered the best overall package. I also have a couple of like minded friends who are building very successful businesses and graduates of The Coaching Institute.
So, what’s been going on with you since Intake?
Prior to attending my Intake weekend in January I was able to secure business through the pre-intake material and support from The Coaching Institute. The Intake weekend was extremely powerful, and since then I have been able to create new business opportunities that have more than returned my Diploma investment.
It’s been all go, I have established the Macarthur Business Academy and a strategic alliance with an RTO / Apprenticeship Centre, founded a Professional Services Network in the Macarthur Region of Sydney and it's first sub-association in the Southern Highlands. I have also secured a contract with a multi national educational organisation based in the UK, formed several alliance partnerships with local professionals who have become my clients, and established a coach mentoring division. More recently I have formed a cross marketing alliance with the largest privately owned Health Club in our region, tendered for a long term local government contract to provide leadership training and coaching, and increased my paying client base beyond 10.
Phew... you’ve been busy, so what else is coming up, what’s in store for you?
All of what I have done since the Intake is part of a longer term strategy to provide training, business and executive coaching, mentoring, facilitation, marketing and networking services to the Macarthur Region, Southern Highlands and the Illawarra through the Macarthur Business Academy in 3 campuses. I am collecting material for several books I will write, programs I will produce as products, online membership based coaching as well as continuing to enhance my keynote speaking skills. To do this I am developing associate coaches and trainers to release me to speak and write and focus more on residual income streams.
