I started my coaching journey with TCI at the end of September 2010, however I started my coaching studies with another organisation in 2007. Through various reasons of self-sabotage, self-doubt, lack of support and falling pregnant my studies were ‘put on the shelf’ and in 2010 after various personal hurdles I decided it was the path I wanted to follow and it was time to really put the wheels in motion to have the life I dreamed of! So with my criteria of what I needed to assist me to succeed I searched for the best company to suit me. I found TCI and within TCI I found the lovely Annie T who was so magical and supportive and so Annie and TCI won my heart, trust and helped re-ignite my passion for my future success.
It’s really amazing and exciting!! I am currently finalising my Cert IV Knowledge paper with a goal to finish the Diploma by the end of the year.I have crewed NLP, attended Advanced Skills, How to Run a Successful Workshop and also completed Extended DISC with Joe Pane in May. I am coaching one-on-one pro-bono clients and have clients who are signing to paying clients. I have created and provided workshops with a Women’s shelter with current discussions for ongoing training with staff and clients; a Recruitment Agency to provide Extended DISC as a Value Add to their business for clients and to provide an analysis on their internal staff Australia wide. I also work with a cosmetics company in providing training and workshops to the consultants who run their own businesses.
I was taking lots of action in learning coaching skills and doing one-on-one’s and I was gaining more confidence but I realised that this wasn’t getting clients and they weren’t going to find me if they didn’t know I existed. I had given Gift Certificates to the local gym but had no success and I realised that I had forgotten to take ACTION to sell myself due to my own fear of not being good enough! The saying ‘who are you to be successful? Who are you not to be successful?’ really pushed my buttons. I have worked as a Corporate Account Manager dealing with IT Managers, CEO’s and CFO’s managing $500k p/m in accounts so I knew I could confidently work at a high level and I needed to harness that knowledge along with TCI’s training and use it in my business. I started to look to the future, plan my success, vision my goals, think smarter, work smarter and utilize everything.
By taking ACTION & getting out of my own way and having the guts to pick up the phone and make the calls, I started to get really clear on who I wanted to work with and where I wanted to end up.
The best advice I can give from my experience is to take action, associate with like-minded people, find mentors, set goals and above all believe in yourself! People in your life and people you meet will have an opinion of you or what you are trying to do, knowing this and understanding that this is their map was a big realisation for me to stay strong and continue on my path to break the rules and ‘Dare to be different’.
For the future, I have a workshop coming up on the 15th July with a local gym for Personal Trainers with a following workshop for clients. I am also working on a joint workshop with the gym to promote a healthy mind & body and a workshop for Women in Business. In between all of this I have developed a Gift Certificate, Brochure, Business Cards and I am finalising my website, facebook page, developing a product, networking and more.
