Overcoming my addiction and fears

I made a promise to the The Coaching Institute team that I would never quit and they made a promise to get me to where I wanted to be, no matter what. They gave me enough tools to face my biggest fears - a life without alcohol and overcome the fear of public speaking

For the first time in my life I went five months without a drop of alcohol and within that five months I presented to over 150 people

24 years young and I finally knew it.

I knew there had to be more to life than excessive alcohol and gambling abuse.

Letting family members down is one thing but waking up knowing you’re really upset with yourself is what hurts the most. Isn’t it?

That day, as I cleaned the windows of a strata block, vacuumed the carpets and took out their rubbish... I wondered.

“I imagined there was something or someone who could save me. Save me from playing the small game and settling for second best”

Months later I was enrolled to a Foundations of Coaching Success weekend with The Coaching Institute (TCI).

I had no idea what I was doing, if I should be doing it or how I would even make it happen but I showed up anyway.

That was the first day to the rest of my life and I’ll never forget it.

The training was like nothing I had ever experienced before.

For over 6 hours I was glued to the sound of the trainer’s voice and eagerly taking notes on the gold he was delivering.

I had found it, I had finally found the key to all of life’s problems.

As I arrived home I couldn’t shut up.

I couldn’t stop regurgitating the value that I had just experienced.

I couldn’t not voice what I was learning.

That was the moment I knew what I was going to do for the rest of my life.

I was going to play the game large and never settle for second best again.

I was going to become a successful coach and help millions of young men and women do the same.

BUT, how the hell could I do this???

So I made a promise to the The Coaching Institute team that I would never quit and they made a promise to get me to where I wanted to be, no matter what.

They were my HOW.

When It seemed like I wanted to quit, when times were tough, when everything seemed all too hard, the team would contact me and make sure I was back on track before moving on.

The support was like nothing I had received before.

It was as if they cared more about me than I did myself.

I think that’s what got me through.

Knowing that a ‘business’ cared more about me than the money I had invested in them.

I had never received that in business before.

Along the journey I realised we don’t have to do this thing we call ‘life’ on our own.

It is the people we surround ourselves with that make all the difference and walking into the live trainings is like having 100 hundred other humans empowering you to keep going and achieve all that you want.

Then it all happened.

TCI gave me enough tools to face my biggest fears.

A life without alcohol and overcome the fear of public speaking.

For the first time in my life I went five months without a drop of alcohol and within that five months I presented to over 150 people.

I did it.

I got over myself and out of my own way.

There was simply nothing I couldn’t achieve.

Within four weeks of this event I had my first paying client and within 8 months I had turned over 50K.

Today I work full time for myself working one-on-one with clients, running workshops, presentations and am currently working on my first online course.

Yes, it is fantastic I’m paid really well for what I do.

What’s even more amazing in all of this is that I am happy 80-90% of the time.

Purely happy with who I am right now and what I have.

From being in this space, I also know I am worth so much more, so yes I’ll be going after everything I want.

I think that’s what success is all about.

Loving yourself enough to fulfil your life with everything you want, because you are worth it.

Thank you, The Coaching Institute – You saved me.
