The best journey i’ve ever taken in my life

I knew I would take this journey on and it's going to change me first. I knew I was taking a self-journey as a start. But I didn't know how huge it was. It was enormous. Changing and seeing myself change every day

So how's it been for you, this journey? You've been in here for a small amount of time. You've grown so much, and I've seen you expand so much more into you.

The best journey I've ever taken in my life. That's a massive thing. Not just me, anyone would take to themselves. It's something that you take for the rest of your life, because the best journey and the best return of investment you'll ever make in your life is for yourself.

That's what I did when I first started: To say yes to myself.

Did you know you were saying yes to you, when you first began?

I knew I would take this Life coaching journey on and it's going to change me first. I knew I was taking a self-journey as a start. But I didn't know how huge it was. It was enormous. Changing and seeing myself change every day. And the way I look at things changed a lot. And the way I evaluate situations, the way I see people, the way I react to things that happened to my life, it's just changed a lot.

"The best journey I've ever taken in my life. Not just me, anyone would take to themselves. It's something that you take for the rest of your life, because the best journey and the best return of investment you'll ever make in your life is for yourself."

Tell me what's the relationship with yourself, what did it used to be? And then, how's it different?

I never knew that self-love was something that I could have for myself. I didn't know that. And because I didn't have self-love I didn't have self-trust.

I didn't know it was a thing. So I always wanted validation from other sources and other people, because I wanted them to tell me that I'm going right, and I'm doing the right thing, and I'm taking the right steps in life, and so on and so forth. I never trusted myself to take my own decisions, because I just didn't know I was good enough. And because that, I didn't know that I could love myself enough, also. That affected my relationship with myself and everybody around me.

And so what was the key thing that you learned about you?

Doing all the work around myself before I went and I did all the coaching outside. Learning all of that, and some of the other life coaching course models  like cause and effect. Like am I at the cause or at the effect of things that happened to me? Things like below the line, above the line. Things like your idea average day.

I get exactly what you mean. When I first started, I would think to myself "Wow, do I think I'm really doing any of that?" But it's exacting in a way, because there's an opportunity for us to grow and develop.

There is a lot of opportunity, yes. And this is why having a relationship with myself first taught me how I could have successful relationships outside. And I had this problem with absolutism. I was always ... Either people are always bad or really good. They're either evil or saints. There's no in between. The reality of everyone has a little bit of good and bad in them.

So what's the contrast now? So what's the relationship you've got with yourself now?

I'm not very harsh on myself as I used to be. I think that I am making the right choices. There's no right or wrong, but I'm making choices that serve me, that make me better, that make me a better person from inside, and then a better person for everyone else around me.

That's wonderful. And it's very important that when we do make this decisions and see that come from that space, seeing ourselves the best us, is a wonderful place.

And you're lighting up. It's just you can just see it. It's coming out of you.

Yeah, thank you. It does affect me a lot. And it makes me feel really good. I'm very comfortable being me now.

So when you stepped into this beautiful world at Foundations, and you kind of had your old black and white world as you're saying, what was it like to step in those doors and come along and do that training?

At the TCI, the best thing that happened to me in that training is that I've learned that there's no right or wrong, and I've learned that I am allowed to feel and think anything I want. I never allowed myself that, or others. So to me, having that acceptance of myself and others, always. I'm allowed to think and feel anything I want.

There's no right or wrong. It's just I'm allowing myself to be me and that allowance is fantastic. To go back to your ultimate self, to go back to who you were meant to be, that's the journey. And now I'm sharing with others as well.

How are you sharing this in your family? Because I know this is something that you're loving bringing into your family.

Yeah, well my relationship has changed a lot with my kids. I've got two daughters, and my relationship just changed enormously. My brothers, my mother, my father, my friends, everyone can see that I have changed a lot. And I'm just more easy-going. I'm very flexible. I'm loving. I'm accepting. And I'm not judgmental. I'm just there, I am being.

They love it, especially my family, because I'm so much more present now. I'm 100% with whoever I am, and I'm just being. I stopped the doing and the having, and I'm just being. I'm being with them.

There was so much stress and anger before. And now I'm very happy.

"Come along, unprepared, and join the journey. Say yes to yourself because the journey will take into yourself and then to others outside you is wonderful. It's a wonderful experience. Having the community around you, having the most wonderful people you can share your life with, and share your experiences..."

You're working with some clients. You're doing some workshops. Share with us how you're sharing this now with other people.

Yeah, my first clients were pro-bono, of course. And then they started getting paid, and now I gave them my packages, and then they took it up. So I had some personal clients, one to one coaching. And then I started coaching a business as well.

At the moment I'm doing some workshops around different areas and different subjects in colleges as well. They are loving it. I'm adding so much value in my life and others all the time.

It's beautiful. What would you say to someone who is considering doing their Foundations training with us?

Come along, unprepared, and join the journey. Say yes to yourself because the journey will take into yourself and then to others outside you is wonderful. It's a wonderful experience. Having the community around you, having the most wonderful people you can share your life with, and share your experiences. Everybody will look after you, you will be very happy, and you will invest so much in yourself and others.
