My Crewing Experience

I loved being part of TCI's crew and had so much fun and I enjoyed smiles and hugs. My experience as a crew member was all the more thanks to TCI's leadership and generous spirit

My experience as a crew member was all the more thanks to TCI leadership and its generous spirit. I attended my FOCS weekend end of May this year and I was so inspired and eager to get into my journey as a coach. I wanted to get as much information into my head and heart that I could possibly get from Joe. I loved everything Joe shared, his stories, his teachings, his wisdom and advice. It was a lot to take in. During that weekend I met some awesome crew members who just gave so much of their time and heart.

I felt all the more comfortable knowing that I had them with me whenever I wanted them to be. I loved sitting with them and chatting with them and it was during this time, that I was inspired to want to be a crew member too and give as much love to other new coaches as these guys gave to me. I also thought it would also give me another opportunity to be in the FOCS room and listen to Joe once again. I knew that being in the room, I would gain more than my original weekend.

“Yes, there's stuff to do when you crew - there is administration, setting up, getting stuff ready, cleaning up etc. I didn't mind any of that. In fact, it came all too easy for me as I had done stuff like that before”

At the end of the FOCS weekend, I was determined to take on Joe's advice and get straight into it. I was fortunate enough that at the end of the weekend I got my first pro bono client.

Wow! I was absolutely stocked!

I couldn't believe that I was on my coaching journey already.

From that client, I got two more and then a couple more. I was feeling pretty good about my achievements so far. I also knew during this time that I could do better, I had so much more to learn, I wanted to give my client's more. I wanted to be a great coach now!! I thought - how can I accelerate?

I then contacted TCI and nominated myself to do crewing. I knew that this was a great opportunity to be able to do the FOCS weekend again. But I wanted more than just to be in the room. I wanted to listen to a new group of people, hear their stories, share in their learning and be there for them. I wanted to be able to serve these new coaches in a way that I had not done with my clients. It would be another level of experience to serving people that I didn't know and be able to share in my journey, my knowledge and heart and be a support for a number of people.

Well, my experience was even more than that. Being in the room was an amazing feeling. I heard Joe say stuff that I am sure I didn't hear the first time. I got better understanding of all the stuff that's covered in the weekend. I felt like I was hearing it through another set of ears. I was listening, not as a brand new coach who was hearing it for the first time, but as a coach who has gone into the field, doing the do and experiencing it. I was hearing it all as it actually was for me. It was like wow, yes, that's so how it is, yes, that's so how it feels, etc. It took my journey to another level. I experienced feelings of being inspired all over again, of feeling proud that I had done what Joe said, and feeling confident that I was traveling well.

Yes, there's stuff to do when you crew - there is administration, setting up, getting stuff ready, cleaning up etc. I didn't mind any of that. In fact, it came all too easy for me as I had done stuff like that before. It's all important work to do to ensure smooth running of a big weekend like that. Being on Diego's team was fun and we enjoyed many laughs along the way. I enjoyed my dinner with the guys and enjoyed even more laughs then too.

Would I like to crew again!! You betcha! I am waiting to complete my HTRSW and my Advanced Skills class so I can get to do them all over again. Crewing is about serving new coaches, the trainer, the crew leader and their team. It took 'serving' to a higher level for me. It opened my heart space even more. Crewing gave me the opportunity to grow as a person and as a coach.

Thank you for the opportunity to be able to crew with TCI. My first experience was a great one and I hope to be able to be on TCI's team again soon.

Best wishes to the team.
