The leap of faith

As a young adult, Kirtsy built her life and identity around the corporate world that she had recently entered.

After years of feeling unfulfilled, Kirsty discovered ICI and took a leap of faith to change her life for the better.

“I found ICI through a friend of mine. I really love finding solutions, I love helping people create the life that they want, or even start a business and bring their ideas to life.”

So what did life look like for you before you began at ICI?

I did 10 years in corporate, so I was in corporate since I was about 18. And I really thought that that was where my life should have gone. I ended up just depleting my life force, and I didn't believe in myself or know who I was.

While being in the corporate world I owned my first house at 24. I had a beautiful marriage. I had beautiful kids, but deep down I was so unfulfilled and became more depressed than ever in my life. I knew there was more to life than that.

Did you think about doing coaching for a while before you started?

I’d have to say no. I found ICI actually through a friend of mine. She worked there and it just popped up and it really grabbed me. I couldn't pinpoint what it was. It was a feeling, a knowing, and I thought ‘I really want to make a difference and I really love helping people, so why not try it?’.

I had a lot of stuff holding me back. I had never really heard of coaching or personal development, but I had a gut feeling. I jumped straight into it. It just felt right for me.

You can sit there and overthink and consider ‘is this good for me?’, but sometimes you just gotta go with that gut instinct. The initial investment in myself was the scariest part for me, but I’m an all-or-nothing type of girl, so I jumped straight into the Pro Coach program

Now that you’re a coach, what do you do?

What I do now is so different from corporate! I’m feeling the depths of what life has to offer. I now support women through running incredible transformational retreats, where we do a six-week program that helps you identify who you are. I help women who feel lost and unsure on what their next step is or what their goals are, and we work through that together. The purpose is to create incredible, safe spaces for women to be their best selves.

We're just about to launch our facilitation course for women as well, so that's coming in the pipeline for next year. It’s insanely rewarding to be able to bring together a community of women and see positive results, and this will add to that.

What would you say to someone who's reading this?

Just do it. You have one life and if you really feel that calling to find your purpose and to live a life of passion and inspiration, then just do it.

Coaching is a world where you get to look at all of your stuff and move through it and come out the other side and be amazed at how far you've come. Even better, you get to help others do that. This has been the most transformational journey I have ever been on.
