I Re-Ignited My Hunger to Succeed

Ever since I was 16 years old I wanted to help people become the best they can be and to live the most incredible life they had ever dreamed of. I wanted to be a Life Coach but I didn't feel that I had much life to coach with

In 2009 I had left my day job with all great intentions of running my own personal development business.

Despite having a huge passion for personal development, my having little to no understanding of what it took to run a business had me in mounds of debt and desperately looking for another ‘day-job’ only six months later.

With a tremendous amount of learns (and bruises and bumps) I realised that there was a lot more that I needed in my tool kit to be able to successfully run my own business.

It was during this period that I also learnt there was such a thing as a Professional Coach and that it could be a ‘day-job’.

Since then my sole focus and mission in terms of my career was to turn my day job into something that I absolutely love and something that I am absolutely passionate about which is of course, coaching.

“Foundations weekend was such an inspiring experience, it was everything I had hoped it would be and it re-ignited my insatiable hunger to succeed in the field of professional coaching and personal development. I remember on my way back to Brisbane reflecting on the fact that I knew I was 100% in the right place and with the right people who would help me on my road to success. The fire in my belly had been re-lit and there was no way I was turning back!”

I had started a Degree in Counseling specialising in life coaching that was just taking way too long to complete.

It wasn’t that I wanted quick wins or the magic bullet, but rather that I was impatient to get stuck into coaching and start making a difference in people’s lives sooner, rather than later.

I decided to exit at Diploma level and went on the search.

Soon after I came across The Coaching Institute (TCI). I joined TCI in December 2014, with the first real kick-off into my TCI journey at Foundations of Coaching Success (FOCS) in February 2015.

I wasn’t too sure what to expect as I had been researching for just the right education facility to help me bring my coaching dream to life.

Foundations weekend was such an inspiring experience

It was everything I had hoped it would be and it re-ignited my insatiable hunger to succeed in the field of professional coaching and personal development.

I remember on my way back to Brisbane reflecting on the fact that I knew I was 100% in the right place and with the right people who would help me on my road to success.

The fire in my belly had been re-lit and there was no way I was turning back!

All of the trainings that I have attended at The Coaching Institute (and there’s been a few – Foundations of Coaching Success, Advanced Practitioner, Meta I and E-DISC) have all had the same thread of excitement, incredible energy, atmosphere and connection to hugely talented and like-minded coaches from all around Australia.

There is an under current of every person collectively striving to be the best in the business, best in the field and best they can truly be.

The standard of excellence throughout the coaching community at TCI is second to none and nothing if not inspiring.

In addition to this, the unwavering commitment and dedication in ensuring that we are given the tools to get the absolute best results for our clients is simply impressive.

I am hugely grateful to TCI and everyone in the wonderful community that make the cogs turn day-to-day.

Thanks to the incredible education that TCI has given me, my Sales Manager ‘day-job’ has turned into a Sales & Performance Coach ‘day-job’ and I am continuing to build on my own business – Evergreen Coaching.

Currently I work both roles part-time with the view that Evergreen will be a full-time gig by the end of 2016.

What is beautiful is the support that is given to build up a business that is sustainable – with my past experience of leaving everything and taking irresponsible (and unnecessary) risks it was important to me that I wouldn’t put myself in that situation again.

One of the things that attracted me to TCI was the holistic approach to coaching, sales, marketing and business.

Whilst my experience has been in leading and managing small to large sales teams it has always been in the structure of a large organisation hence going into business for myself was something quite different.

Evergreen Coaching currently does a lot of life coaching working with a variety of clients around achieving great results in their daily life, breaking down limiting beliefs and barriers to achieving the success that they so desire.

We also focus on women’s empowerment running regular full day women’s empowerment workshops in Brisbane (and are looking to expand to Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast).

In addition to this, our focus is on expanding to leadership coaching and training. The majority of my career experience lies in this field however now coupled with the disruptive leadership models and frameworks taught to us by Sharon Pearson and TCI it is a really exciting time to be involved in teaching these new models to organisations throughout Australia.

"I believe to succeed in any part of your life, you need to connect to a huge WHY. The ‘thing’ that will keep you going even in those moments when you really don’t feel like it. A compelling enough WHY that will get you out of bed earlier than others, give you energy to keep going when most have stopped and to push through boundaries of unknown, insecurities and comfort zones...”

My ultimate goal is to build an Evergreen empire that is centered on creating positive change in the world one person at a time.

Evergreen’s ethos is to learn, implement and share mindset and life strategies that empower people of all walks of life to connect with their true self and to live their dream life. 2015 was a year of epic proportions and now the benchmarks and standards have been increased yet again for 2016.

I know that this is possible due to guidance and support around me (from both family and TCI).

I believe to succeed in any part of your life, you need to connect to a huge WHY.

The ‘thing’ that will keep you going even in those moments when you really don’t feel like it.

A compelling enough WHY that will get you out of bed earlier than others, give you energy to keep going when most have stopped and to push through boundaries of unknown, insecurities and comfort zones.

This combined with a supportive group of people who are knowledgeable in the areas that you are not (such as the remarkable mentors at TCI) is a true combination for success.
