"The Coaching Institute has led me to new goals and dreams I never thought of..."

It all started in 2018, July when I enrolled into The Coaching Institute.

I was nervous,

I was excited,

I was curious,

I was beaming with delight.

These mixed emotions are something that you may hear a lot from anyone who has joined The Coaching Institute and I was one to feel into these emotions. I embraced the uncertainty of what I was getting myself into, I just knew seeing stories, Facebook pages, the website, that The Coaching Institute is the place to be, do and GROW!

"I networked with people hearing their stories of struggles, setbacks, and successes. I felt like I met my people, people who I will remain in contact for a very long time! And to this day today, I have remained in contact with the ones I met at my Foundations of coaching weekend..."

I walked through the doors at The Coaching Institute and felt like this is where I need to be at this point of my life

My first training was at The Coaching Institute in October 2018, I walked through the doors and felt like this is where I need to be at this point of my life. I waved to people who I thought I knew.

I thought, here we go a conference where I will probably fall asleep like I usually do, yawning and wanting to get out of the place.

But do you know what?

I didn’t, I sat up the front every day, listening like a little school child eager to learn and grow. Not even blinking an eye as I did not want to miss out on any opportunity that came my way with this epic weekend of growing.

I networked with people hearing their stories of struggles, setbacks, and successes. I felt like I met my people, people who I will remain in contact for a very long time! And to this day today, I have remained in contact with the ones I met at my Foundations of coaching weekend.

The weekend was a chance for me to get out of my head and be from a space of curiosity and you know what. It was the time I opened my heart again to love, eye contact and being true. I felt emotions that I had hidden for a while and every time I got to The Coaching Institute I feel I grow into an even better version of me as I dive deeper into who I need to be and become.

To me it was life-changing especially in terms of coaching another person.

What changed me the most after the first weekend at The Coaching Institute was Joe Pane inviting me to the stage and taking a chance to experience a different way of being and coming from a place of curiosity. I had to stare in someone’s eyes without talking. Well, Joe’s eyes.

You know it was the first time that I got out of my head and then had the light blub moment where I thought about the person in front of me instead of getting in my head. It is hard to describe unless you do it, but when you get out of your head and stop thinking about yourself like, “Oh my gosh! People are looking at me!” or “oh my gosh! I might make a fool of me!” or “Oh my gosh! I feel so nervous!”

I was snapped right out of those feelings and that’s when the penny dropped, look, gaze and ask questions about Joe! So, in my head I thought of questions I could ask. And that changed the way I thought and got out of my head space and into a place of curiosity for someone else.

Words cannot describe the feelings and emotions of that moment. But to me it was life-changing especially in terms of coaching another person.

“I want to thank Joe Pane and others at The Coaching Institute for the life changing weekend at Foundations of Coaching Success training. You instantly saw patterns, habits and beliefs in me that I was unaware of and that were holding me back from moving forward. . .”

I knew I have so much more!

My journey of personal development has been a lifetime of set backs and successes, I just continue to raise the bar for myself, higher and higher. I guess you could say I am a high achiever. I love goal setting and have found better ways of goal setting through The Coaching Institute, ways you can never fail!

But, at the same time, I can fall pretty hard.

Bullied in school.

6 qualifications under my belt.

Failed high school.

Been on front cover local newspapers.

Failed Uni.

Educator of the year.

A failed marriage, Domestic violence, and divorce.

30kgs weight loss and continuing to maintain this for 4 years.

Mental breakdown.

But you know what, all these things, these awards, setbacks did not fore fill who I needed to be and become. I knew I have so much more!

I am a centre manager of a child care centre for a corporate company. I still am, though my attitude has changed within myself and towards my team. I have transformed my centre both physically with the learning environments/furniture and spaces and the Staffs mental health and wellbeing too.

I also am getting coached to become a leadership/business coach and know my niches are bringing passion in the industry and learning how to self-care.

I am now guiding, mentoring, inspiring and being the leader of excellence.

There are so many gaps in the industry especially Educators getting into leadership positions with no real experience how to be a leader or let alone knowledge. It is a throw yourself in that position and figuring out all the work. I am now guiding, mentoring, inspiring and being the leader of excellence.

My centre was awarded a platinum rating and came top 10 in the company for the practices and now I want to go national with helping other directors reach their dreams in terms of quality education and care for children.

The only thing I could say I dislike is the Groundhog Day daily tasks but these have to be done, a business has to do certain tasks to remain open for business. What I have done today is incorporated more coaching to the table and seen the benefits it brings to everyone around me.

Even my COO and state manager said, “I am very wise.”

I have never heard this before. Wise! I am just silly Alicia! The joker! The crazy girl!

I now work with naturopaths, nutritionists, coaches, educators, Beyond blue, Griffith university, union leaders across the country

Today, I am working part time as a centre manager and have my own business “Keeping it real – AAW”

I work with an array of people in my town and across the country from naturopaths, nutritionists, coaches, educators, mentors with Beyond blue, Griffith university, union leaders and so, so many more people.

Networking is what I do best and living in three states I have remained in contact with a lot of people and some people are returning into my life after 15 years as they hear my story and where I have come from, especially my darker days where I had a mental breakdown.

Would you believe it if I said I was shy and did not talk much or do anything from childhood to about 18 years old. I used to shy away and be so scared!

I SOLD out my workshop in less than 24 hours

At the moment, I have a sold-out day workshop for women in my town. The response was unbelievable as I live in a regional town of Hervey Bay. People here only come in small groups like 5 people or less.

I SOLD out my workshop in less than 24 hours and an exhaustive waiting list of approximately 223 people and still growing. Word of mouth is the best form of communication.

Bringing people in your tribe is another way to be successful. Nobody is successful alone; you are successful with taking people along on your journey. Building your tribe, your purpose, your vision and your mission.

Mine is becoming clearer than ever and that is to empower women, come to together and reach our dreams. It can happen and if we champion each other on we unlock the true potential in us to be who we want to be.

I coach people across the country and I have two overseas clients too! The sky is the limit!

The Coaching Institute has led me to new goals and dreams I never thought of and by following the process of what they offer the sky is the limit how you want to be successful because everyone’s map of the world is different to another. There structures and processes to take the steps and actions to create the changes is so magical.

Taking the action is what leads you to the change in your world. Just playing safe and reading/learning does nothing. Honestly, I’ve been to TAFE, I’ve been to university, I’ve even been the TAFE teacher and I have learnt so much more and found a different way of learning that is fun and sticks in my head. I talk about it; I live and breathe it!

I can’t wait to have my own running coaching and consultancy business

My plans for the future is to hold conferences and sell from stage be one inspiring person to make changes in others peoples world. Just knowing and chatting to people one on one and creating change is great too.

I can’t wait to have my own running coaching and consultancy business. I knew I wanted this; I was looking at opening my own RTO but now I found it! It is this!

Say YES and figure out how. Enjoy the ride!

My success has come from all the people involved in my life to keep me going. Firstly, my mother who supported me to go on this journey. I am a single mother so talking to her to make sacrifices to study again! Travel to Melbourne. If it wasn’t for her support, I would not have the successes I have. My mentors Sharon Pearson, Joe pane and Matt Lavars. Super stars in The Coaching Institute who model excellence on who I am becoming.

Sentha Govin a facilitator in the community, she has mentored my coaching sessions and coached me to take off my two masks of perfectionism and self-sabotage, this was the change that was life changing!

My accountability partners and all the clients I coach. I see a little bit of me in them and the things they unveil help me uncover things within me too!

If anyone is wishing to pursue something, they are passionate about, just do it, say YES and figure out how. Enjoy the ride!
