I Wanted to Have a Rewarding Career and I Found Life Coaching

It never occurred to me that I needed healing. That I lacked belief in myself. My journey with The Coaching Institute opened my eyes in ways I never could have imagined… and I’ll always be eternally grateful. But the proof is the in pudding, so what has changed?

"I become a member of the Coaching Institute in 2016, and without doubt, one of the best decisions of my life"

I left South Africa in 2006 and went from being a significant income earner (as an events co-ordinator) to happy house-wife for 10 years, blessed to raise 2 beautiful boys with my husband in the Clare Valley.

But there’s only so much housework you can do before going stir crazy and asking yourself “what on earth am I meant to be doing with my life now”. All the gurus would ask… “What are you passionate about?” and I’d reply in my mind, “having amazing conversations & deep connection with people” thinking, “but how on earth do you monetise that?”  Then through a twist of fate or the stars aligning – a best friend said to me “you should BE A COACH”, and 2 days later I met Sharon Pearson at a business event in Melbourne

During one of The Coaching Institute trainings we created our Purpose Statement (an amazing experience) and over this weekend I was trying to put my finger on what feels different within me… and I thought, I feel FEARLESS… which is a quality I wrote down 18months ago in my Purpose Statement and I feel so connected to who I’m meant to be now to make my life count

I’ve had many pinch-myself moments

The most recent moment was when I got contacted to draft a proposal for a corporate workshop. When I asked her whether she’d attended any of my workshops before, she said that I’d coached her teenage daughter for 1 session last year and the change in her was incredible, she’s transformed into this happy, confident young woman… and she’ll be coming back for more sessions next term.

I became a member of The Coaching Institute because I wanted to have a rewarding career. It never occurred to me that I needed healing. That I lacked belief in myself

My journey with The Coaching Institute has opened my eyes in ways I never could have imagined… and I’ll always be eternally grateful.

I now have a full time Coaching Business. My business is called Advance Mind Matters and I work as a Personal Development and Mind set Coach within a multi-disciplinary team at Advance Physiotherapy. Here my clients vary in age from 6 to over 65’s and I help them heal from trauma, so they can love themselves again. It is the most exquisite privilege and I love every minute of it.

I seriously wish everyone could receive and experience the outstanding trainings, camaraderie, insights, wisdom and GROWTH that I’ve gained

The knowledge and experiences I was gathering was actually changing my life!

They were helping me through some decisions and concerns that I had. Some I had worked on for years and other professions or education couldn't help me shift.

Everything that has been shared has added value to my life. It has challenged and developed me and has been so easy to apply to my coaching and training.

Every time a client faces their fears and has a difficult conversation, or handles stressful events beautifully, or improves their relationships or recognises their value, that makes this the most rewarding job in the world.
