I Will Continue Tapping Into My Power
Michelle Hutton, 37, lives in Melbourne with her 17-year-old son. She had a "massive" smile on her face as she wrote this, because for the first time in her life she is excited for her future.
I was very much living life feeling numb, disconnected, lost and never feeling like I belonged.
Through many challenges in my life: childhood trauma, heavy depression where I couldn’t get out of bed for days, anxiety, addictions and abusive relationships; my bad days turned into bad weeks, and then into bad years.
5 years ago, when I was 33 years old, I reached a point in my life where I was at my lowest. I experienced suicidal depression and I felt I could not go on anymore.
After spending some days in hospital, I felt like a switch had been flicked on. I began searching for more. I became a sponge for knowledge and more importantly, I wanted to get to know the real me.
“My life transformed into something extraordinary. This was the place for me. It fitted with my values and I felt an inner sense of belonging.”
I became so empowered and passionate about the shift that occurred within me I now wanted to give this back to the world.
I spent a month at an amazing place called The Health Retreat in Queensland. I had never heard of life coaching before.
At the end of my stay, one of the trainers said to me, “Have you ever considered becoming a life coach? We have never had a client help so many other clients before!” This was a defining moment for me.
This led me to The Coaching Institute, where my life transformed into something extraordinary.
Two and a half years ago, I attended a 3-day event with trainer Matt Lavars called Courage to Coach. After the first day, I signed up. I knew this was the place for me. It fitted my values, and I felt an inner sense of belonging.
I am so very passionate about coaching.
The fact that I can make a difference in a person’s life is a wonderful gift. I 100 per cent believe this is why I choose to walk this planet, to coach. I have tapped into my super power.
The help and support I have been given from The Coaching Institute and its community is like nothing else I have experienced before. I wouldn’t be where I am without their love, support, acknowledgement and encouragement.
I feel for the first time that I belong. I have grown so much as a person, I have increased self-esteem and worth and I have deeper connections and relationships with the people I love.
I have started my coaching business, Live In Growth Coaching, and will continue to grow it. That sentence makes me laugh: I have a business!
This is something I once thought never possible. I have paying clients now and have just begun running workshops and yes, I feel fear but I also feel excited.
“The longer I am here the more they keep giving and more importantly I can give back, which I love doing. There is so much you can learn in any given moment and The Coaching Institute definitely delivers not just in the trainings but in the experiences."
A massive thank you to The Coaching Institute because for the first time in my life, I am excited for my life, and all the experiences I am yet to have. The growth I am yet to receive, the connections I am yet to make, the trainings and experiences created through the school.
I have made true friends and new family within the community—like-minded people who actually get you and you get them.
I will continue tapping into my power, discovering, growing, learning so I can always be there to serve others. To inspire and empower, and share the journey to discover their own true potential. That is simply a magnificent thing.
Michelle is passionate about helping people, loves a good laugh with her loved ones and a nice red to match. She shines brightest when spending time with her son.
