I started with The Coaching Institute in February 2014 and did my Foundations of Coaching Success intake weekend in May 2014.
I was living my own version of Groundhog Day. At the time I had no idea but I was so disconnected from life. I was in pain every day, exhausted and on the verge of another stint of anti-depressants and 12 weeks of therapy.
I didn’t want to go down that path again, so I decided to join The Coaching Institute instead. At the time one of my goals was to leave my employment where I felt micromanaged and to be my own boss.
The main goal was to get out of pain and all the things that I believed were the cause of my pain. All the external things. The next biggest thing for me was to create a path to become financially secure. I had spent my life so far in some form or another of financial struggle and financial insecurity. I was so sick of it. Sick of worrying about money.

I had read the book Ms Millionaire and I was really inspired by Remi Pearson’s chapter in the book. I remember thinking, I want to be like her and do that! I didn’t take action then though.
Then about a year later I went to see a career coach and she mentioned The Coaching Institute to me and another coaching college in Sydney. I checked them both out and I chose The Coaching Institute.
I went onto the website, got the info pack, went through it, and I signed up straight away.
No conversation really needed for me. I wanted to be my own boss and drive my day. I wanted autonomy. I wanted to do something that meant something to me.
And I wanted to become wealthy and financially free. To be independently wealthy – that has always been my goal.
Last year I separated from my partner of over 13 years. So I continued serving the clients I had but I did not market for new clients. I needed to choose to do work where I could not be so emotionally invested while I healed.
So with my accounting skills and business skills I have learned through The Coaching Institute, I took on a Business Management Consultancy gig and turned someone else’s business around with them.
It’s been a wonderful experience, however I am being pulled toward the more personal development side of coaching again and wealth creation, now that I am at the point of my own healing that I have more to give.

I want to move towards group coaching and really leveraging off Remi Pearson’s years of expertise so I can have more of my time back to explore other things in life too. Like going on adventures, learning new recreational skills, and one day meet a guy and build a relationship with our values complimenting each other.
I am in the process of reducing the hours I currently spend working on someone else’s business so I can focus on my own. I also have an accounting business and I am working at building a bridge between my accounting business and wealth coaching.
I’ve identified my gaps and I am currently working towards bridging those gaps, such as public speaking and also developing my soft and hard skills for wealth creation.
And I am sure there will be many more.
Leaving paid employment in August 2015 was a huge milestone for me. Knowing I would not have to force myself to go to work anymore and have all my time to focus on my own business. I didn’t do this until I had replaced my income but once I did – it felt so fabulous! I was then able to drive my day.
My big turning point with my coaching journey was Ultimate You Quest. After choosing to end my relationship, and a few other big things happened in my life, I felt pretty broken. I was on my own again after more than 13 years, I had to move home and suburb, one of my daughters moved out. There was so much change. I felt like I was starting all over again.
Even though I chose the path I took, I was free falling in uncertainty. There was way too much uncertainty in almost every area of my life.
I started Ultimate You Quest and I showed up for myself every single day, even when I was so down I couldn’t get out of my pyjamas.
Doing the work in this program has changed me forever. My world has expanded because I have expanded. Through the hurdles and the setbacks I have experienced, I now know I have so many internal resources that were laying dormant within me or that I just didn’t notice. As I move forward, I discover and develop more and more.
For the first time in my life, I really feel like I’m ME.

What’s more important is that I have created that income by doing work that is meaningful to me. I am building a purpose driven business and life.
I love how I get to connect with so many of my clients that I have coached in the past, one on one, and hear how much of a positive impact coaching with me has had on their lives too. That’s really something. I get all teary and my heart feels so fat and full when I hear their stories since our coaching.
I also get to read lots. I absolutely love reading and over the past 4.5 years since joining The Coaching Institute I have read around 300 books, sometimes the same book many times. I’m sure I speak the words I read without even realising I am anymore.
I coached so many people pro-bono in my first 18 months and so many of those people became paying clients that stayed coaching with me for 12 months or more. I also got referral after referral from my clients and the people who I had coached pro-bono.
I built up a Facebook Business Page to a following up to 3,500 people. I had people send me messages via messenger because of something I had posted on my wall and then we would chat, which would often result in a curious to committed session with them.

I also have 2 Facebook Groups, one with 550 members and one with 350 members, that I was running in 2016 and the beginning of 2017. I attracted clients through them as well, through daily posting and a 30 day challenge.
I plan to spark them back up and create even better marketing campaigns utilising and improving the structure I have already built, but creating even better content and making offers within the groups to my coaching programs.
What I have loved the most so far is who I have become and who I am becoming. I love experiencing my own personal growth alongside my business growth and my wealth creation strategy. It’s really quite incredible!
I am certain that as I keep on learning, growing, applying what I learn and contributing to others whilst monitising that and creating income, I will be living my ideal day within my 7-10 year goal.
I have also made such wonderful friends. My nearest and dearest friends are people I have met since joining The Coaching Institute.

Jodie was first inspired by Remi Pearson's chapter in Ms Millionaire book and it didn't take her long after that to start her coaching journey in 2014. Jodie started with a clear vision in mind of becoming a successful coach and create meaningful changes with financial freedom and wealth.
