Coaching has a variety of styles on how you can approach your clients to address their different challanges and needs.
If we want to know what coaching style we will be, we need to know how we are energetically with the people in our lives.
You need to assess your quality of conversations you have with people around and you will get asked "What is your coaching style?".
I didn’t become a coach in the beginning to set the world on fire with my ability to coach
For me it was a need to find a way to heal and I needed a way to connect with myself, I needed a way of knowing myself before I went and took it to any client.
In discovering your coaching style, it takes a lot of practice sessions and free sessions to allow you to develop your voice which takes time and doesn't happen overnight unfortunately.
If you are wondering what style you are going to have, assume in the beginning you will pretty well not have a good style.
What we all need to know is...how do I have a coaching conversation? Let alone, how do I bring style to it?
You don't need to be worried about what your clients will be thinking your coaching style is or you at all because they will be focused on themselves and you will that space. Until you've done that, you will fill that space with empathy, with presence, with just being with them, with sitting with them, whatever they are going through with.
You will eventually bring a directness, because you will be trained in it, you will bring a directness that will free them from the poverty of their minds.
The short answer is in the beginning, don't count on coaching style, count on coaching skill. Learn how to have that coaching conversation with the clients we provide you. Build you muscle until it is quite natural for you to sustain a 45 minute conversation where it is all about them and you will begin to see nuisances.
