Giving Tree 2014

We are so blessed to have a community that have a profound desire to give back to the world

Instead of a standard end of year Christmas party we set up the Christmas tree and invite our students to share a gift for a Mother and her Children that for various reasons have left their home and are seeking shlter in emergency services...our Giving Tree has become an outstanding success. Thank you!

If you were around last year you may remember that Sharon donated a couple of thousand dollars to have a playground erected at a safe house where the kids only had a concrete slab to play on. This stuff matters so much to so many.

This year we would love to do it all again.Over the next 4 weeks we would love to create, with your help, an abundance of gifts under the Christmas tree at TCI that will bring a stack of joy to many over the holiday season.

If you would like to purchase a specific gift then then here is what the Sacred Heart Mission Women’s Service is up to this year (they have 100 women to cater for)

As many of the women who access our programs don’t have family to spend Christmas with we put on a Christmas event both at Women’s House and at Homefront Crisis Accommodation. We like to be able to give each woman a Christmas gift and as such we appreciate the lovely donations we get each year.
Things that are particularly popular with the women are generally things that they would not be able to buy themselves such as:

Pamper packs of nice body washes and/or lotions
Handbags or totes
Makeup and nail polish

We would request that any donations of gifts are either not wrapped or if they are wrapped that it is clearly marked what is inside as we try to be as fair as possible and make sure that every woman gets a similar gift...”

We also support the Mary Anderson Family Violence Service by providing gifts for children of all ages. The response in the past has been incredible. We have previously manage to donate gifts that they are able to hand out during the year, not just at Christmas. Often children have fled their homes without any possesions so a ball, a cricket set, games, craft activites, hats, sunscreen, swimmers, towels the kind of luxuries that make life fun have been gratefully received.

Please send your gift to TCI and we will put it under the tree until the 15th December when we will pass it on to Sacred Heart Mission & Mary Anderson Family Service.
